My first post of the month on this blog is dedicated to ministries and missions that help those in need. This month, take time to look through Compassion’s lesser-known ministry to mothers and babies. You can find the link on their website, or directly here, on their “Help Babies and Mothers in Poverty” page.
A few quick facts:
Compassion has eight child survival centers. You can choose which one you would like to help. The locations include Ecuador, Haiti, Ethiopa, Kenya, and Indonesia.
Every year, over a million children die in their first year of life. These centers are dedicated to helping babies survive and thrive, as well as their mothers.
Whereas sponsoring a child through Compassion is a pledge of $36 to $42 a month, the monthly gifts to a child survival center are only $20 per month. If you can’t afford to sponsor a child, you can support a center at less than a dollar a day.
Your support will help with: critical medical resources, baby and toddler supplies, basic nutrition, emotional support, and spiritual guidance for young mothers and their babies.
Please view the site for more information or to sign up to help this desperately needy cause.
